After debuting the music video for their third single ‘Tot Die Son Uitkom’ off “Wie’s Bang?” on Saturday at Assembly’s Vanfokkingtasties show, Van Coke Kartel’s new music video hit the interwebs today.
This is hot off the press people.
Here’s a bit of background into Chasing Media Productions, the guys who put this whole thing together:
Three months after finishing their first feature film “Casting Me…” in 2011, the Chasing Migada Productions team comprising Producer and Director of Photography Darren Wertheim and Director and Writer Quinton Lavery approached the Afrikaans rock band ‘Van Coke Kartel’ with an offer to shoot the music video for their upcoming single “Dis ‘n Land”. The music video remained on the MK top 10 for thirteen weeks and won over 27,000 views on Youtube. Darren and Quinton were subsequently entrusted with the second music video for the band’s next single, “Tot die son uitkom.”
The concept was to be substantially different to the previous one where band members were dressed in drag. This time they envisioned a five-minute short film set in the 80’s featuring two kids age seven, a boy and a girl. As the story unfolds, they would play in nature uninhibitedly, as kids did back then, without a care in the world.
I’m completely in love with this song and I’m happy to report that the music video only further serves to highlight and heighten the track.
You don’t need to be a rocket scientist to figure out that it’s going to be a huge MK hit.
High fives all round.
