Buy The Ticket, Take The Ride

tickets

I don’t normally do giveaways like this, but I’ve been so overwhelmed by the events being thrown this week that I thought I’d give you a chance to pick and choose which one you’d like to go to.

Not every venue is &Union and therefore, not every gig can claim or offer free entrance.

As of late, with all the quality gigs on, I feel for your pockets, I really do. And so do the musicians, which is why they approach people like me to give back to you, their loyal supporter.

So whether it’s psychological rock ‘n’ roll, synth folk or just plain jolling you’re interested in, there’s something for everyone below.

2 x tickets to The Very Wicked at Sgt Pepper. The 5-piece are debuting their material at Sgt Peppers on Long Str tomorrow night. I’m glad they’ve decided to utilise this venue for live gigs, the layout and location is spot on.

2 x tickets to Woodstock Mafia, Glen Hartmann and Beast at Mercury. The concept for this event is to take bands from a range of genres and have them strip down their music in a once-off acoustic show. They also focus heavily on a creating an effective visual element by completely transforming the upstairs of Mercury Live through set design and lighting.

1 x t-shirt and 2 x tickets to Red Huxley at The Waiting Room. The threesome is launching their much anticipated music video ‘My Own Way’. Shot by Motioncity Films, who always produce quality work, I can’t wait to see to finished product

Now if any of the above sounds appealing, all you have to do is leave a comment with the name of the band you want to see and a motivation for me as to why I should gooi you those tickets and tees.

Winners will be notified tomorrow morning via email.

AND GOOO.

  1. Erin says:

BEAST >>>>> Because Inge is the BESSSSST and I’m sure that any acoustic performance by her would be worth the entrance fee anyway. PICK MEEEEEEE.

  2. James says:

Red Huxley – I haven’t seen these guys in ages, I LOVE the waiting room and I need a new T-shirt!!
Pick me Pick Me Pick ME ME ME!!!

  3. Danielle says:

The Very Wicked! Having downloaded their limited free Mountain tracks, I would love to see them live! “Gooi” tickets this way please :)

  4. Lukas says:

BEAST: because Inge came to me in a dream and told me that I would win. You can’t fight the mystical powers of Inge Beckman, so you have to give me the tickets.

  5. Tanya says:

BEAST – I “saw BEAST at Oppikoppi but I was too drunk to remember.
This is not the first time that has happened.
So I still have no idea what BEAST is about.
But I love Lark and if that’s anything to go by, then it should be rad!

  6. Abdeah says:

BEAST!!! Die-hard Inge Beckmann fan. Haven’t quite had the chance to see Beast yet. For a bass obsessed chick, the idea of 2 bassists in one band completely blows my mind. Must see…

  7. texx says:

we’ve got some serious inge beckmann die-hards here. epic.

  8. Andre Botha says:

I would love to see Woodstock Mafia jam it out, since i live in Woodstock and am a respected Mafia Boss it would only make sense. If you keen for a good party swing by, 49 Milner Road, near Jamaica-me-crazy. Would love to see Jo and the crew jam it up!! Woza

  9. Patrick says:

The very wicked. Most probably one of the most anticipated launches Ct has seen in a while. Andre Leo I think has finally realized hi dream in this band. I would love to see them perform at their first gig ever! Plus Dirk makes some really tasty Ciabatta, let’s see him on the drums.

  10. Fraser says:

The Very Wicked & Wild Eastern Arches dj set and Simon Berndt dj set. Really really wanna see these guys perform but I dont have the 40 bone to get in. Would love a lil freebie thrown my way :)

  11. Travis says:

Red Huxley have been entertaining fans for ages…
At different times, on different stages

I got to meet “Zef Leopard”, producer from Motion City
If I missed this gig, it would be a massive pity

I heard the video was shot in the Karoo,
Holy ships I’d love a ticket for two!!

I have “nothing more” to say
    If “it’s too late”, I hope not….
I’ll be “coming home” that night
    feeling “love, drunk, dirty”

    THE END

  12. Le Roux says:

The Very Wicked!!! After realizing that members within this band originated from the all amazing blues rockers, The Pretty Blue Guns, I was super amped to hear their music, and knowing the influences I knew it could just be good. As it turned out, it was no disappointment to the ear-holes at all and these peeps are rocking out with a seriously cool sound. But sound is sound and if able to see them (as I have not yet had the privilege), live, doing the thing their good at would ultimately be the main experience! And with a ridiculously cool line-up and supports, such as the members from the Future Primitives, the Wild Eastern Arches and the all cool Mark Reitz, how could this not be something to get “PSYCHED” about!?!? And would it help if I say PRETTY PLEASE?

  13. Nikita H says:

The Very Wicked! I have been looking forward to this event ever since the last Psych night blew my mind. R40 entrance is a bit steep for me though so it would be absolutely lovely to win some free tickets! Pick me! Pick me! :P

  14. Swan says:

Its been tough on us kids out there, pouring all our money into cover charge, cd’s and merch. A rolling stone mag, and a road trip to the Koppi. Tickets for peppers and Linkin and all this with a full summer of festivals to come…. with all this money going into shows I forgot to buy clothes!!!!

Please send me to Red Huxley in a new Red Huxley t-shirt…

    THE VERY WICKED…….PLZZZ

Although I am the BIGGEST Inge Beckmann fan, supporter and hopeful future wife (no, I’m not a lesbian.. but for her, anything!), I would rather go and see The Very (anticipated) Wicked…
    because:

    a) I spilt red wine on Inge at a texxonfire tuesday a few weeks ago and she was not impressed with me. (so I’m too embarassed to face her)
    b) Because I am PSYCHED for this and I’m sure it is going to be VERY VERY WICKED! (too much?)
    c) I have very high expectations from these individual musicians and I wan’t to prove myself right!
    d) Because I really need an awesome night out! (I am an Honours Architecture student. We don’t even know what it is like to socialize) and
    e) Because I am super broke. Always. Constantly. And this would make me VERY very happy.

    PLEASE HELP? <3
