Converse Diary Entries
By now you’ll all know that electro-folk artist and #TuesOnFire alumni, Matthew Mole, won the Converse “Get Out Of The Garage” Competition.
Now if you’ve been drunk for a month, this basically means that he won a trip to London in the near future to play at the legendary 100 Club. It’s a huge honour.
Jon Savage, one of the Get Out Of The Garage Celebrity judges, commented: “ An unexpected but deserved winner who showed great strength in his song writing ability. Now we are going to put him through the rigorous Get Out Of The Garage Bootcamp to prepare him for the London Show! This will involve live training, performance training, set building and many other important workshops to get him gig fit at an international level!”
What date he’s actually headed off there is another story entirely. Apparently they’re looking for local artists in his aforementioned genre (or thereabouts) that will complement the line-up.
If you’d like to know what Mole’s up to, our just follow his journey in general, you can check out his Converse Diary Entries here.
It his first entry he talks about Jack Straw (drums), his upcoming gigs around town and how much he loves Soundcloud. Ag cute man.
In his second entry he talks about missioning up to Joburg to meet the Converse team and his returning to The City of Gold for a his week-long tour. Be sure to read it here.
I’m going to be keeping a close eye on Mole and his journey so keep checking back to this post for regular updates.

I am absolutely so excited for Matthew – really deserving of this awesome opportunity.
