RAMfest Redeem Themselves

ramfest

On Saturday, RAMfest announced that Rise Against and Pendulum would be headlining its concerts in 2013.

The legacy of Rise Against precedes itself and the best thing about this band is that you don’t have to be a fan to enjoy them. They make smart, socially conscious music and put on one hell of a live show. Apparently.

Pendulum – they’ve been here before and last time, they were the standout act. I wouldn’t know, I was busy in a tent at the time.

Tickets are already on sale (taking a leaf out of Big Concert’s book and capitalising on the momentum – although making an announcement and not putting tickets on sale is just dumb) and you can get them from here.

Now I’m slightly ashamed to say this… but the reason I didn’t write a review on the 1 day Cape Town RAMfest gig at the beginning of the year was because, well, I was too skaam. And because I got incredibly drunk, but that’s another story entirely… but I would’ve torn them to shreds. That was a big mistake on my part. I should’ve published it anyway. You have my word that’ll never happen again.

You can argue with me all you like, even if you don’t want to acknowledge it, but a combination of factors made the Cape Town leg a fail. Capetonians become so incredibly precious about something when it’s their “favourite” and messing with the “best 3 day festival” was super dumb.

Big ups to The Fourie brothers for reverting back to their old ways.

I’m looking forward to this more than any RHCP gig.
