FUZIGISH’S Trombonist Launches Solo Project

SOLVIA is William Tempest Bishop’s vocally driven solo project. His debut album, “DIVINORUM”, is the result of seven years spent writing, recording, mixing, mastering and learning. Committed to controlling the entire process, he produced the album from start to finish.

William is best known for his work as the trombonist for FUZIGISH. Devoted to the performance and production of South African music, he has been a stalwart of the scene for nearly 20 years, having joined LEEK & the Bouncing Uptones at the age of seventeen. Bass guitar is William’s second instrument and is often at the core of his writing. He pounded the bass for Architecture of Aggression for the better part of a decade before joining The Slashdogs in 2015.

SOLVIA embraces the power of digital music production while drawing inspiration from the Rock ‘n Roll majesty of bands such as Black Sabbath and Tool. William communicates topics close to his heart in “DIVINORUM” socio-political themes, the esoteric, addiction, spirituality and emotions like betrayal and belonging are woven into its lyrical fabric.

William has drawn from his many years in the South African scene to build a super-group for SOLVIA’s one and only show for 2017. On the 3rd of November, at Rumours Rock City in Johannesburg, SOLVIA will perform live for the first time and will feature members of Raptorbaby, The Slashdogs, Vulvodynia and Satanic Dagga Orgy.

“Creating this album was a deeply moving experience. The next step is to perform it live, a prospect the band is relishing,” says Bishop.

If you enjoy melodic vocals and high-energy technical rock ‘n’ roll, if you’re a fan of wailing guitars and industrial beats then you will surely love SOLVIA. Check it out here.
