Friends Like Thieves Release ‘First Kiss’ Video

A classic coming-of-age, middle-finger-to-your-ex track.

As 2017 winds down and you start looking forward to the new year and all its resolutions, Pretoria’s pop punk mavens Friends Like Thieves have a new video to inspire you to not look back and just keep swimming.

Heavily influenced by blink-182 and the staple skater bands of the ‘00s, Friends Live Thieves previous three singles have done surprisingly well on radio – both here and in the US – if you consider the fact that commercial radio doesn’t really dip their toes into anything with an alternative edge to it.

‘First Kiss’, recorded at Rob Storm’s (New Academics) studio, deals with classic genre themes of coming-of-age realisations and young love that’s imploded. The video is also glaringly simple, focusing on “Jane” texting “John” the lyrics of the song. Genius – although imagine receiving that many Whatsapps WTF?

Keep an eye on Friends Live Thieves Facebook page for gig updates, if their live show is anything as energetic as this track you’ll be in for a treat.
