>Maar kyk mooi, daar is iets anders fout – Fokof

So after a few hours of sleep and a nice strong cup of coffee I feel like my old self again. Put on an old Fokof album too, so I could lose myself in those what-it-is-to-be-a-boere-in-suid-afrika angsty lyrics. It always works. And while we’re on the subject of Fokof…

If you don’t’ know already (where the hell have you been) Fly on the Wall productions have made a great little, soon to be HUGE, documentary about Fokofpolisiekar which is going to premier at the Encounters Festival in July. And will then go onto bigger and better things. These dates annoy the shite outta me, for no other reason other than the fact that I won’t be in Cape Town. Grrrrr. The dates where they will be screened at Nu Metro Cinemas around town are as follows.

Friday 3 July
Q/A with the film makers after the movie

Thursday 9 July
Q/A with the film makers after the movie

Monday 13 July

Saturday 18 July

If you can’t make any of these dates (like me) the documentary will released later this year. This is just a nice way to be in with the “cool crowd” and if you’re ever stuck for a conversation point, you can say “Forgive them, they know not what they do” which incidentally is the tag line for the movie. I think Inggs was onto something with her religious photographic iconography. Anti-conformism is not always the way. Lets become one with the Fokof movement, if only for the duration of the documentary. For more info visit the website, checkout the trailer, read the synopsis. Blah blah blah.

I now need to go ice my hand.
