A month or so ago, The Windy City boys ventured into The Republic of Hout Bay to record their first EP. But they don’t just record their EP anywhere – they record it at Cedric Samson’s Treehouse Studio.
Now I was fortunate enough to interview Die Heuwels Fantasties there in the middle of last year when they were recording ‘Doodgewone Aand’ and trust me when I tell you, it’s a pretty impressive studio. Small, but impressive.
Take a look at the short video below to get a very brief feel of the recording process.
A Grammy nominated producer in his own right, Cedric has worked with the likes of Miriam Makeba, Hugh Masekela and a whole host of other musical legends. He also wrote the theme music for Dali Tambo’s show ‘People of the South’. Ja, he wrote that song.
So taking into consideration what he has to say about The Windy City guys in the video below, I’m sure it’s one of the biggest compliments they’ve received to date.
I’m beyond stoked for Adrian, Marco and Jean and the results speak for themselves. Listen to ‘Games’ off their EP, below. Too gorgeous.
