My Best of Coachella 2012

Yesterday was a productive day for me.

It’s a rare occurrence this kind of productivity, let me assure you. I’m way too easily distracted.

Now this year my Coachella FOMO is at an all-time high. I blame the South African “contingency” if you will that keep flooding my bloody Twitter timeline with updates.

I’m glad they’re enjoying themselves but, well, you know…

So I decided that I would watch every single live performance I could find from this year’s Coachella to counteract this FOMO and today, I thought I would share some of my favourites with you.

Azealia Banks. This is the woman I keep saying would eat Nicki Minaj alive. She says during her set that this is her first American performance. Ever. How this is possible I’m not sure. Her debut album, which she’s working on with Paul Epworth, Adele’s 21 producer, is scheduled for release later this year.

Tupac Hologram. I’ve always been a West Side girl myself and this, I’m happy to report, is pure genius. Apparently Tupac’s mother is very pleased with the way this turned out and there have been recent reports that Snoop and Dr Dre want to take the hologram on tour. I hate playing the what if game, but we can only wonder what tunes we were robbed of when Tupac was killed.

Awolnation. I included this purely because of Macy Gray.

I watched the entire Santigold set yesterday (pictured above), but it has since been removed. Pity, because it was one hell of a set. I love the way she was able to make her performance work visually with nothing other than two dancers onstage with her. Looking forward to her second album, Master of My Make-Believe dropping next month. If she decides to release ‘Freak Like Me’ it’ll probably be one of her biggest singles to-date.

Naturally there are tonnes more, but you can YouTube them yourselves depending upon your preference.

Coachella 2013? Bitches be saving.
