TEXXED UP TUESDAYS

In case you didn’t already know, as of Monday the 2nd of July Assembly Radio will be live.

And in case you haven’t been following my updates over the last few days, the nice people over at Assembly have decided to give me a show. On a Tuesday.

I’m calling them TEXXED UP TUESDAYS.

I’m not sure these Assembly peeps quite know what they’re in for.

TEXXED UP TUESDAYS is basically going to be an extension from my Tuesday On Fire vibes. So whichever band I have playing that week I’ll have in studio and we’ll get to know them a little better during the course of my 2 hours on air. I’ve also got a few surprises up my sleeve which I will reveal all in due course but naturally, you have to listen in for those.

Assembly Radio in itself is going to be amazing. An extension of the live music giant The Assembly, this online station aims to connect listeners to unique music content.

Hosted shows will play out from 10 am till 10 pm and will be broadcast live from a concept booth within The Assembly venue. A ground breaking online station, Assembly Radio is positioned to be a powerful platform for our thriving local music scene.

The whole shebang is being set up by For Music Lovers, a company that specialises in creating unique audio content. When asked about why this station is relevant, FML co-founder Kevin Kai said: “I think the great thing with online radio is that we have the freedom to broadcast what we want, when we want. We’re not restricted like the traditional broadcast stations and because we’re online, our level of interaction with our listeners is far more engaging.” The online station will play a variety of genres with the over-arching theme being that it’s about music played for music lovers.

Co-founder of FML, Alana Cremonte had this to say: “Traditional radio in South African seems to have lost its way when it comes to playing music that people want to listen to. To be able to tap into music culture and create a unique soundtrack that is full of rich content is amazing.”

IT’S. GOING. TO. BE. SICK.

Tune in to Assembly Radio on your phone, laptop, work computer, home computer or cell phone here as of Monday.
