Remember back in November when I told you about the Litnet and Sanlam Sing ‘It competition?
Well after endless nights of reading through almost 2 000 entries, the Sanlam Sing ‘it artists each chose their favourite lyric.
Zinkplaat, Louise Carver, Zaki Ibrahim, Ekhouvanjou, okay!, 3rd World Spectator and Tumi and the volume have all recorded songs featuring their winning lyrics and as of Monday, the voting phase has officially begun.
The song with the most votes wins the artist a R50 000 music video for the track, and the lyricist will win R50 000 and get the opportunity to feature in the music video. You’re kicking yourself now for not entering, aren’t you? Ah well, there’s always next year. But remember to vote for your favourite song and stand a chance to win one of three 16 GB iPod Nanos.
Tune into Assembly Radio next week Tuesday at 2pm where I’ll be chatting to Peter Crafford from 3rd World Spectator on what it was like to be involved in this epic campaign.
