If I put on a large-scale daytime event in Joburg, Emmerentia dam would be the only venue I would utilise. It’s as gorgeous as it is functional and was the perfect venue for the largest standalone crowd Bastille has ever performed to.
The obvious quality of the opening acts aside (lets rather not get me started on Matthew Mole, his lyrical charm warms my heart and brings a smile to my face like few musicians do), what really impressed me about the event this weekend past, was the high standard of production that Seed Experiences hit, owing partly to the stark professionalism of Pro Sound.
Also, I don’t think I’ve ever had the shrill shrieks of 12 year olds, who made up the majority of the 15 000 pax audience, rattle my ears like that.
