Why should you care about Brand New? Are they still relevant? Are they famous? Are they on the radio everyday?
No. They’re not. They are self-sufficient. They are stubborn. They are infamous for not wanting to be famous. But man oh fucking man, are they influential. Brand New is the band that has done it their way, at their own pace. They are ever evolving. From pop punk roots to dark and moody electronic based compositions, Brand New has not stopped moving forward since the early 2000s.
The trail of modern bands influenced and respected by this group is unfathomable. They are heavy and dynamic and always temperamental. Always.
I have fucking goosebumps writing this. There are a handful of you reading this that truly know what it means that we are going to have this band play for us. For the rest of you, get ready… get ready to be submerged in a band that doesn’t care that you don’t like them. Get ready for a performance that will go over the heads of the majority of the crowd. Get ready to not get it. And that’s fine. But for the few that have been holding their breaths for this moment, get ready to finally completely lose yourselves in what it means to watch and experience something fragile and real.
This isn’t rock and roll, this is a fucking art anthology.
