Van T’s new music video for the title track off her debut album ‘We’re Still Running’ is “a grotesque reflection on consumerism and glutinous consumption in the 21st century”. Representing an artistic exaggeration of the 7 deadly sins (Sloth, Lust, Wrath, Gluttony, Greed, Envy and Pride), it’s all about constantly moving forward despite the various obstacles one may face.
It opens with Van T sitting at a dining room table with her husband/partner/boyfriend and they start devouring the plates of food in front of them and it quickly turns into a pretty gross affair. Reminiscent of Queens of the Stone Age’s ‘Sick Sick Sick’, Van T’s squishing prawns in her hands and taking huge bites outta cheese – don’t watch this video is you’re feeling slightly hungover or ill.
