The Curious Incident Release ‘Diane’ Video

Eclectic pop-rock group The Curious Incident have been tiptoeing around the scene for quite a while, with their single ‘Money’ being their most recent air wave triumph. The band’s latest video release for their track ‘Diane’ taps into the depths of listeners’ high school crush nostalgia – with a twist.

The video follows a typical star-crossed lovers-style narrative, the only difference being that this is a girl-meets-girl situation. With the band members taking on interesting roles in the video, including that of a teacher, a janitor and Elvis, the video’s story is given a lively atmosphere.

However, despite its colourful, vibrant setting, the video’s slow camera movements and sometimes cliché plot developments struggle to keep up with the song’s upbeat pace. Some of the video’s repetitive imagery may also begin to distract viewers after a while, drawing their attention away from the song as a whole.

Viewers are left waiting with bated breath for the video’s long-awaited kiss-scene and those who watch all the way to the end are rewarded with exactly the teenage lip-locking they were likely expecting. Despite some of the video’s imagery seeming redundant at times, it remains a satisfying, dance-worthy offering. Watch the video below.
