Splashy Fen Lands The Temper Trap As Headline Act

After a hugely successful re-launch earlier this year, the 2016 Splashy Fen Revival introduced fans, both old and new, to a fresh venue redesign, a star-studded line-up of international and local acts, and a unique festival program that unquestionably put the iconic music festival back on the map.

The award-winning Australian rock band The Temper Trap has sold over 1 million albums worldwide, received 150 million streams on Spotify, created a Number one album and performed on the stages of Glastonbury, Coachella, Lollapalooza, and now Splashy Fen!

With new music from their latest album “Thick as Thieves” and their three global Number One hits Sweet Disposition, Fader and Love Lost, the crowd is in for a musical treat.

“The Temper Trap is a momentous signing for us as Splashy Fen,” says Festival director Stu Berry. “It’s a vital step in showing our fans just how serious we are about building the Splashy Fen brand, and giving it the credibility it deserves – as a festival that offers outstanding entertainment and value-for-money.”

The Splashy Fen 2017 Phase One Acts include some of South Africa’s favourites: The Springbok Nude Girls, Jack Parow, December Streets and Desmond and the Tutus; plus 100 more acts to be announced in the months leading up to the Easter-weekend music festival. In addition to the existing four stages, 2017 will see the inclusion of a Treehouse Stage and musical performance for every one and every taste.

Impi Concept Events Business Manager Stu Berry is grateful to all those who showed their support in 2016, and is excited about all the new additions for 2017.

Splashy Fen 2017 will take place over the traditional Easter weekend from the 13th to the 16th of April when festival-goers will be able to experience a long weekend in the picturesque setting of Underberg, enjoying the best Splashy Fen experience to date. Tickets are available at

Early Bird Tickets are available on the Splashy Fen website: at the very reasonable price of R620 per person for the full 4-day festival access.

This offer is valid until midnight on the 9th of October 2016, thereafter General Access tickets will be available to fans for R765.
