MCQP Announce Theme For December Event

The largest eastern production ever with thousands of expected extras is about to head to Cape Town after MCQP announced their theme for this year’s event this past weekend as “A Bollywood Production”.

Taking place on Saturday, 17 December 2016, Africa’s biggest and longest running costume party will be presented for the 23rd time, attracting thousands of visitors from across the country (and globe) annually.

“A Bollywood Production” Director, Ian McMahon of MCQP, says: “This year’s MCQP will be a spectacle like no other; a royal Bollywood Production of dancers, singers, colours, saris, harams and so much more! It will conjure up characters from Bollywood, Bombay and Kolkata. So picture your very own eastern event as we celebrate everything that is the fantastic Eastern celebrations of colour, flair and vibrance.”

McMahon added that for the very first time, MCQP 2016 will be taking place at the ZipZap Circus Dome in the Foreshore with an additional six enclosed fortresses and spaces, providing a new enclosed venue for the event.

“Furthermore, we’ll have a new starting time at 2pm, which will allow MCQP to incorporate a daytime festival as well leading up to the early hours of the morning. Also new will be our daytime afternoon sundowner set by Chris De Vos’ Sexy Groovy Love brand, which will give you beats all afternoon until sunset. As usual, we’ll have the best talent on show, like Jamie Saint and other top DJ’s,” he says.

So what should one wear to the Bollywood Production theme? McMahon explains: “The brighter, the better! Don’t be afraid to wear a bold colour – that will help you fit in with the eastern guests who’ll be dressed in vibrant colours and eye-catching jewellery. If you don’t have a sari or lengha, don’t worry – a jewel-tone dress with a shawl will be perfect.”

MCQP will be combining the best of BOLLYWOOD celebrations all in one night!

The MCQP 2016 theme was announced on Saturday 29th October to a jam-packed crowd at the highly popular Dragon Room, which celebrated a Halloween theme on the evening.

“So come and dress to impress, undress to express, at our Bollywood Production. It promises to be the best event of the year!” concludes McMahon.
