Press Release

Texas Announces Additional Support Acts For Tour

If you bought your tickets to see Scottish alternative pop/rock band TEXAS before the full line up was announced, then you’re in for a treat as some phenomenal acts have just been added to the bill for the Cape Town and Johannesburg shows!

The UK’s singer-songwriter Emily Capell will be performing at Cape Town’s Kirstenbosch Gardens along with Henry Ate and TEXAS.  Emily will also perform at the Jo’burg show with Henry Ate and pop-rock sensation Monark.

Since hitting the South African music scene in May 2013 with “Smiling”, Monark has changed the landscape of pop and rock music in the country. The four-piece band deliver energetic and polished live performances that are incredibly well received by fans, with Monark performing on some of the top stages across the country. Monark has received numerous nominations, including a SAMA for Best Pop Album and Record of the Year. They have just released their new single ‘Show Me The Love’ to huge acclaim and airplay. Be ready for an incredible show with these boys from Potch!

Emily Capell is a singer-songwriter and musician from North West London. Her songs tell stories of celebrity lust, musical influences, and general adolescence. Capell, whose musical stylings draw from a pool deep and wide, is affectionately described as sounding like the adopted daughter of Jamie T and Billy Bragg, and a distant relative of The Clash and The Libertines.
