Chris Cornell’s kids give powerful Grammy Awards tribute speech

In a bittersweet moment during last night’s Grammy Awards, late singer-songwriter Chris Cornell posthumously won in the best Best Rock Performance category for “When Bad Does Good”.

His kids took to the stage, with this mother watching from the sidelines, and gave a heartfelt speech in honour of their late dad who passed away in May 2017.

“I never thought we’d be standing here without my dad and I’m sure he’d be proud and honoured,” his son Christopher said. “He was known for many things. He was a rock icon, the godfather of grunge, and the creator of a movement, whose contribution to music history made a lasting impact across genres and generations.”

“His voice was his vision and his music was his peace,” his daughter Toni added. “This is for you daddy and we love you so much.”
