I mean, it was bound to happen.
The BCUC fam have been trotting around the globe, flying the musical flag for South Africa so goddam high – from CNN African Voices to regular tours through France, they really are doing the damn thing.
So when they were announced this morning amongst the first batch of bands to play Glastonbury Festival this year, I was not in the least bit surprised.
It makes my heart swell with pride because, not only are they some of the best humans I’ve ever met, but because their music carries with it a social and political gravitas that reflects our current plight as a country.
Nobody is doing more for South African music at the moment than BCUC.
