Counting down to The Cure: Predicting the setlist

Predicting which tracks a band will play at its next live show is impossible. But thanks to the interwebz, we can track themes and what The Cure’s played over the past over a year to try make an educated guess as to which tracks they’ll perform in Egoli-land later this week, and the place-where-we-almost-ran-out-of-water – next week.

We’d like to think The Cure is in historic mode right now. We’ve reported on how the band will soon be inducted into the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame. The post-punk geniuses will play a huge Disintegration tribute show in Australia. And they’re busy with their first album in yonks, with rumours suggesting it’ll release late this year.

Based on very informed thumb-sucking and search algorithms, we’re certain an SA setlist will be well over two-hours long.

Expect some obscure songs, but history tells us there’s a slim chance they’ll play “Love Cats” or “Sinking”.
