You asked why Summersault Festival was on Easter Sunday of all days and the organisers heard you.
As a result Summersault Festival has now been move to the 1st of December, while also confirming a new international act has already been lined up for that show in addition to the great talent already booked.
Explaining the reason for the date adjustment, festival director and co-founder Damon Forbes said: “We had underestimated just how inconvenient Easter Sunday would be for a huge portion of our audience, and the sheer number of emails we received from people asking why that weekend was reason to take pause.”
He added that the festival was conceived as a family friendly event, so to compete against a key family weekend, in a sense, undermined a guiding principle.
As a token of appreciation for early supporters, the organisers have undertaken to honour current ticketholders with a boutique event still to take place on the 21st of April in Cape Town. The event will be held at Canvas, a popular event venue in the Mother City that will still feature headliners Jeremy Loops and Youngr with Kim Churchill set to open the night.
Current ticketholders will gain access to the teaser event on the 21st of April as well as Summersault Festival in December.
