On Wednesday this week Liam Lynch and Hunter Kennedy will be at the Cape Town School of Photography, speaking on their shared visual history and take on Fokofpolisiekar’s story.
The duo will discuss the complexities and wonders of a life photographing what has become part of South African culture, how photography has impacted the brand, and how they continue to build and develop the brand of Fokofpolisiekar.
The talk will be an informative and informal exploration of the impact photography has had on the building of the Fokofpolisiekar brand.
Lynch, who has photographed the band since their inception, will chat about the technical and aesthetic choices that continue to inform the documentary style of his images.
Kennedy, guitarist of Fokofpolisiekar, will explore how Lynch’s photographs have significantly shaped perceptions of the band, ultimately becoming integral to their public image.
