After their initial announcement in June, spearheaded by BCUC, was met with resounding gees, Endless Daze just dropped another ten acts, including two more international headliners, for Endless Daze 2019.
Joining the international headline billing will be London-based Yak, whom have been touring their brilliant full-length album Pursuit Of Momentary Happiness. There has always been an element of chaos to Yak and their approach that they took to a new level with their recent album.
The result is a rare white-knuckle ride of an album in which an extreme commitment pulsates through every moment – much like Spiritualized’s “Ladies And Gentlemen We Are Floating In Space” and Tame Impala’s “Innerspeaker”, both of whose creators had a part to play in the album’s genesis – ranging from the gonzo-fuzz chaos of tracks like “White Male Carnivore” and “Bellyache” through to the Roy Orbison-inspired heartbreak of “Words Fail Me”.
Chile’s Föllakzoid will also be headlining the festival this year with their mesmerizing and unique style pf psych rock. The band has been featured on many international stages and promises a live experience like no other.
Endless Daze has become somewhat of a ritual or a homecoming for Medicine Boy. This year the dream noise duo will be bringing some friends to join them. The Last Light Ensemble is an eight-piece band consisting of drums, violin, cello, double bass, French horn and backing vocals. A group of some of Cape Town’s most talented musicians who will be coming together especially for this show.
