We’ve been counting down the days until The Jagger Lounge is officially open for business and thankfully it’s not too long now.
In case you were otherwise preoccupied at the time and might have missed it, The Jagger Lounge is Cape Town’s newest live music venue that’s set to open its door next week, after having taken over the spot previously occupied by Café Roux in Shortmarket Street.
The Jagger Lounge also has some legit industry figureheads behind it in Andy Mac (Amp Events), Mike Vaughan (Mars Music) and musician Ard Matthews – with renowned model, actress and entrepreneur, Ilene Grahn, coming on board to assist the trio with day-to-day operations.
On Thursday, The Jagger Lounge kicks off its live music programme with alternative pop band Diamond Thug, who opened for The Cure back in March and have been gallivanting all over Europe these past few months. Get your tickets here.
On Friday, they host Afro-pop group Hot Water, fronted by the enigmatic Donovan Copley so you know that’s pretty much guaranteed to bring all the feel-good vibes you need to the start of your weekend. Get your tickets here.
On Saturday, the owners of The Jagger Lounge will take the stage as Ard Matthews and Flat Stanley round off a weekend of celebrating all the blood, sweat and beers it took to have this venue up and running in just over a month. I’m tipping this to be one for the books. Get your tickets here.
So there you have it kids. I would urge you to get your tickets now and not wait until the morning of because all of these events are sure to be packed out.
You will find me at that triple stacked premium tequila and mezcal cabinet, sampling the merchandise. I’ve been told the goods are legit.
