Lizzo scores her first #1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 with “Truth Hurts” and it’s about time

There are only three female rappers to reach #1 on Billboard Hot 100 – Lauryn Hill, Cardi B and now, Lizzo.

But not only did her feminist anthem reach #1 this week, “Truth Hurts” is now also certified 2x platinum and her debut album has spent a solid 11 consecutive weeks in the Top 10 on the Billboard Top 200 chart.

Add to this her show-stopping performance at the 2019 VMAs, where she also performed “Good As Hell”, her attendance-breaking NPR Tiny Desk concert and that time she brought down the house with “Truth Hurts” at the 2019 BET Awards, and it really isn’t a bad time to be Lizzo.
