For their first show of 2020 at Café Roux in Noordhoek, The Plastics have reinvented themselves as The Bright Blue Orchids, ahead of the release of their fourth album (yes there’s an album on the way too, get excited).
The band explain the sound of The Bright Blue Orchids as an unapologetic throwback. “The Orchids are a rambunctious ode to the power of love, filled with twists and turns that captivate, thrill and beguile the listener,” the explained on Facebook.
“The Plastics are releasing The Bright Blue Orchids under this name because the band’s line-up and sound has evolved specifically for this album, it represents a dynamic shift and a world of possibilities. Turn off your mind, relax and float downstream.”
