Braamfontein’s newest brunch party aims to house Joburg’s melting pot of culture & creativity at 99 Juta

Tucked away in the heart of Braamfontein is a candy-coloured courtyard, which makes for a perfect brunch-time party, taking advantage of Joburg’s prime Summer days.

Following a successful launch in December, That’s Nice! returns to 99 Juta Street on Saturday, 7 March from 11am – 5pm, featuring a stellar lineup of the city’s best in alternative culture.

This month’s lineup features Soweto-born collective Vuyo Mpantsha and Fhatuwani Mukheli of I See A Different You, who pride themselves on telling authentically African stories through music, art and film. Supporting acts include female DJ Mamthug, Togolese producer Leprezident, newbie Ridicoulouslytalldj and indie singer-songwriter, Moonga K.

Patrons can look forward to Korean-inspired fried chicken gao baos by Meesook, welcome drinks and artisan coffee. A dark-blue bar tucked away in the back of the building will serve drinks while guests enjoy the unique, colour-drenched inner-city setting.

The monthly event aims to house Johannesburg’s melting pot of culture and creativity in the hub of Braamfontein, curating and spotlighting a unique lineup of artists and musicians.

Patrons can enjoy the new events space adjoining 99’s signature pink courtyard fitted out by Dokter and Misses. The airy mint green, lilac and terracotta space is an area for people to mill around, grab some food or a drink and hang out for the day.
