Pedro Barbosa wins international UK songwriting contest with tender ballad “Crazy Love Is”

After winning #1 spot for “Sing Your Heart Out/Love Songs” category and #2 spot for in the ‘Adult Contemporary’ category at the US International Songwriting Competition in 2019, Pedro Barbosa’s song “Crazy Love Is” has now also claimed the #1 spot in the “Love Song” category International UK Songwriting Contest in January 2020.

The UK Songwriting Contest is a popular and prestigious international competition for songwriters, singer-songwriters, lyricists and instrumental composers. 

The UK Songwriting Contest launched in London in 2002 in association with The BRIT Trust, The BRIT School, The BRIT Studio, Music Aid International, The Guild of International Songwriters and Composers and Roland Music UK.

“When I received the email from the UK Songwriting Contest, I was blown away, I didn’t expect it at all. It was great to know that ‘Crazy Love Is’ made an impact in two different continents: the ISC and the UKSC, two completely different markets. I felt really proud and privileged… I couldn’t be more grateful,” says Pedro Barbosa.

Grammy, Emmy, CMA and BRIT -Award winning judges include Sting’s producer Kipper Eldridge, legendary producer Stuart Epps (Elton John, Robbie Williams, Oasis), Britney Spears’ musical director and BRIT Award winner Simon Ellis, top producer and arranger Dr Richard Niles (Paul McCartney, Kylie Minogue, Take That, Mariah Carey), CMA Award-winning country star Lucie Diamond, chart topping songwriter Mark Cawley, and UKSC winner and Platinum Album artist Natalie Chua (signed by Simon Cowell after her win).
