Watch Billie Eilish make a striking Oscars debut by singing The Beatles’ “Yesterday” in tribute to those who passed away

Still riding high from her record-breaking 5 Grammy Award win, our girl Billie Eilish began her first Academy Award night by walking the red carpet in a white oversized Chanel tracksuit and then wasted to time becoming an instant meme after during a Kristen Wiig and Maya Rudolph skit.

But her debut performance inside the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium, was a bit more of a somber affair, as she and Finneas on piano (in a very similar set-up to their performance of “When The Party’s Over” at the Grammys), were introduced by film head honcho Steven Spielberg for the In Memoriam tribute.

With a fitting rendition of The Beatles’ “Yesterday”, the siblings paid tribute to the renowned actors, filmmakers and craftsmen who passed away over the past year and it was especially moving when the first face you saw on screen was Kobe Bryant’s.

Billie is set to record the theme song for the upcoming James Bond movie so I’ll throw my hat in the ring and say this now – watch Billie’s next appearance at the Oscars be as a nominee, babyyy.
