Power duo Blackbird Hill dazzle in their new video for “Smoke and Mirrors” with a twisted alien vs cowboy romance

Following the release of their latest EP, Razzle Dazzle at the end of last month, Blackbird Hill hopped on their virtual horses and tracked down South African-based director and producer, Steven “Joff” Carter to create this saucy sci-fi western.

Blackbird Hill do grit and growl with French finesse as the duo command the distortion overdrive pedal that is so synonymous with rock ‘n roll, having been influenced by back-in-the-day blues and only the best modern rock groups along the lines of Queens Of the Stone Age, The Raconteurs, and Royal Blood.

As a cowboy traveller character settles in for the night after a bowl of sloppy grub, his slumber is interrupted by a UFO smashing into earth.

Ready to draw, a seductive extra-terrestrial surfaces from the wreckage and swiftly hypnotises the cowboy through a sultry dance-off showdown. The cowboy’s heart is weakened as the alien steals a make-out session of death.

The western cinematographic style stirs in perfectly with the raw, garage-rock sound and goes down like a smooth whisky. Get ready to lap this track up.
