Medicine Dolls are all cigarettes and singed-eardrums in their DIY “Vicious Little Sister” video

Nothing screams a 1990’s London punk riot quite like the Medicine Dolls. They’re the epitome of the streaked eye-liner, tequila-dosed genre they’re keeping alive – not to mention they’re one of the hardest working bands grinding away to keep themselves as Covid-19 crunches up against the music industry.

When the initial plans for their “Vicious Little Sister” video were put on hold – for obvious reasons, let’s not drop the c-bomb again – Greg Allen whipped out his editing skills and compiled a DIY punk-infused visual for the searing track.

A shifting combination of live, home video, and studio footage – the video tracks their sharp-edged navigation of the scene. Raw, rollicking, colour-soaked live footage meets candid home footage, hand-held lockdown snapshots.

Cigarettes in the bath, cigarettes on stage, cigarettes on the kitchen floor. The vicious little sister in question seems just as wild and wily as the band:  “She picks your pockets when you kiss her,” Allen half-croons through Brit-flecked vocals.

They’ve been Online Busking, recording spirited covers, and have a full-length LP on the horizon. They’re keeping busy and we’re about to get a whole lot more quality content from these guys.
