Texx Talks Episode 6 features Tresor – African pop star and global entrepreneur

This week’s episode of Texx Talks features Tresor Riziki, arguably the biggest pop star in South Africa at the moment, who has worked tirelessly on building his musical career from the moment he arrived in Durban from Goma in the DRC.

“I’m very excited to be doing this podcast with Tecla, she’s been an incredible supporter of my career and also an incredible supporter of local music and talent,” Tresor explains when questioned about being involved in Texx Talks. “It’s a great platform to be able to share my story in an unscripted way and I’m very excited about this one, I really cannot wait to hear it!”

Renown for his distinct sound, his songs reflect a peregrine of life shared by so many who live in Africa, but few are able to express their experiences in a way that he does – capturing an ear so universally and directly.

From being warmly welcomed by Durban’s music scene when he arrived in SA, to striking lifelong creative partnerships and friendships with rapper AKA and singer-songwriter Matthew Field (Beatenberg), to penning historic deals with Universal Media Publishing, Tresor’s transition from African pop star to global entrepreneur is truly inspirational.
