What Could Possibly Go Wrong? 2020’s byline, but also the name of Dominic Fike’s debut album that he announced alongside his new single “Politics & Violence”

Well we didn’t have to wait long for Dominic Fike’s next release did we?

Two weeks after dropping a trippy video for “Chicken Tenders“, that’s sitting at just under a million views, Fike has returned with a topical single and video for “Politics & Violence” while simultaneously announcing the release of his debut album What Could Possibly Go Wrong, dropping on the 31st of July.

Shot in Scotland, the track comes with a Reed Bennett-directed visual (he also worked on “Chicken Tenders”) that finds the album cover come to life as lyrics and footage of Fike are projected onto old buildings and hillsides.

For someone who’s only seen the confines of their apartment for the last 100-odd days, this video was a welcome breathe of fresh air for me with its kaleidoscope night-scape and colours. And my hunch is that What Could Possibly Go Wrong will be just as comforting.
