Oasis classic “Wonderwall” has become the first ’90s song to hit one billion streams

Huge congrats are in order for Oasis who, as of this week, have officially become the first ’90s band to have a song surpass one billion streams on Spotify.

“Wonderwall”, which had a resurgence on the streaming platform owing to the recent release of their 25th anniversary edition of the 1995 album, (What’s the Story) Morning Glory?, is now etched in pop culture history. Not to mention meme culture.

Earning the band two Grammy nominations in 1997 for Best Rock Song and Best Rock Vocal Performance, the video remains Oasis’ most-watched and the song, a cultural cornerstone of the Britpop movement.
