Miley Cyrus is a huge fan of a classic cover. From Hall & Oates’ “Maneater” to Blondie’s “Heart of Glass”, Cyrus has been putting her own spin on iconic tracks for a while now but last night she kicked things up a notch during NIVA’s virtual Save Our Stages Fest.
Performing with her full band from Hollywood’s legendary Whisky a Go-Go venue, Cyrus covered the Cranberries’ 1994 single “Zombie” as well as The Cure’s legendary track “Boys Don’t Cry”, before throwing her most recent single, “Midnight Sky”, into the mix.
The fundraising event aims to encourage donations to the NIVA Emergency Relief Fund, which directly supports vulnerable music venues during the Covid-19 pandemic. An incredible initiative – if only South Africa had an equivalent.
