PSYCHOYP and Azanti bust out sizzling summer Afrofusion EP collab, YP & Azanti, Vol. 1

Rapper PsychoYP and R&B Afro-trap soul singer Azanti have just released their highly anticipated collaborative project, YP & Azanti, Vol. 1 which offers a distinct and dynamic new sound straight out of Nigeria for the world stage.

Nigerian singer, songwriter and producer whiz-kid Azanti (real name, Nathan Ayomikun Otekalu-Aje) and PsychoYP crossed paths in Abuja, Nigeria. PsychoYP was in awe of the teen’s ability to produce, write, sing and play instruments – and it wasn’t long before Azanti grabbed the attention of industry heavyweights, bagging him a spot in the vibrant music scene across the continent.

YP & Azanti, Vol. 1 is a seven-track EP that serves as the perfect afrobeat soundtrack for the upcoming silly season as PsychoYP and Azanti explore life’s intricate themes of love, loss, betrayal and self-discovery – all curiously paired with blends of sub genres including Afrobeat, trap, hip-hop and R&B.

There are several stand-out tracks including “Caro” which croons musica-latina vibes, prompting us to pump up the lilo, grab a GnT and kick it boujee poolside during the day – before transforming into a tricky trap tune to prep for a fiery night out in “New Bag”.

Keep your eyes peeled, these guys are a duo to watch.
