Rudi Simon’s “Encore” is an expat’s chill-house love affair with Cape Town

After more than a year, South African OG-turned-Londoner Rudi Simon has finally released the visual accompaniment to his sizzling summer love song, “Encore”.

Shortly after releasing “Encore” at the end of 2019, the part-time music producer, vocalist and guitarist collabed with Greg Cameron who threw his drone up in the air and captured some stellar shots of iconic holiday hotspots Sandy Bay, Clifton and Signal Hill all to be stitched together for the single’s impending visual.

What took so long? Rona struck and put the entire project on hold… until now.

Flip-flopping between slow-mo drone and iPhone footage shot by Philippe Angelo Raffner, the breathtaking beauty of Cape Town’s coastline largely carries the video co-produced by Rudi Simon and Sam Cramer.

The team behind the video have essentially captured the “summer holiday” vibe in the video concept which Simon explains “is a summer holiday love song about a relationship you wish could go on forever, but know probably can’t.” However I missed visuals that would aid in telling me more about the fleeting summer fling.

But all is not lost! A recent Instagram post suggests Simon has a strong video release schedule planned for 2021 so keep those eyes peeled.
