Tiny Tattoo Sessions season 1 wraps with a fitting finale featuring SA rock legend Francois van Coke as he chats everything from fame to fatherhood

Francois van Coke has been dominating the South African music scene for the better part of two decades. He rose to fame as the iconic frontman of legendary rock bands Fokof Polisiekar and Van Coke Kartel, paving the way for a whole new generation of alternative Afrikaans music.

In 2015, he launched his solo career with his debut self-titled album and he hasn’t been showing any signs of slowing down.

Having tattooed Franny many times before, it seems only fitting that Manuela Gray would get Franny in her chair and on the spot to wrap up Tiny Tattoo Sessions season 1 with the King of SA Rock as he chats fame and fatherhood.

Francois van Coke also performs acoustic versions of two of his favourite tracks over the years – “Ek Skyn (Heilig)”, a Fokof Polisiekar classic from 2006, and “Dagdrome in Suburbia”, a song he wrote with Spoegwolf front man Danie du Toit about growing up in the ‘burbs but daring to dream further than the fence in your front-yard – alongside guitarist and vocalist Richard Onraet.

Fuelled by our faves at Fokof Lager, Tiny Tattoo Sessions has also launched their podcast, where you can stream full-length episodes, available on all major streaming platforms.
