lordkez’s latest EP, JUICEBOX, is the fun and energetic result of exploring outside of her comfort zone

Since her eyes locked on a dream to follow music during her time living in the UAE, Joburg-based lordkez (real name, Keziah Zoe Meyers) has pumped out two successful projects, including her edgy 6-track debut EP Revenge Season in 2019, and the more fine-tuned and finessed nine-track Charcotta last year – all while studying Sound Engineering at UCT.

Just shy of 18 months since lordkez made her debut, the 22-year-old tour de force has dropped her third EP JUICEBOX and it is dripping in light, low-fi loveliness.

Brought to us by Steyn Entertainment’s Record Label and Management Company, Stay Low, two of the four tracks off the bubblegum buffet of alt-R&B, experimental pop project, “Purple Hearts” and “Rice Krispies” (feat. Money Badoo) have already enjoyed pert pastel-paletted visual accompaniments.

Lordkez divulges that this project is special to her because it is the result of wandering outside her comfort zone: “I love the idea of duality and as a follow up EP to my critically acclaimed EP, Charcotta, I feel this is the perfect way to live out the concept of duality, which is what I am all about.”

Lordkez is doing the things at supersonic speed. Spotlighted as “one to watch in the growing alternative scene” by the Sunday Times’ culture supplement, JUICEBOX is testament to the fact that she has the reins firmly laced in her candy-coloured claws and she’s galloping.
