At just 17, Johannesburg-based singer-songwriter Vaughn Prangley is shooting for pop-rock stardom with no signs of slowing down.
Just two months after dropping his debut EP, Where it Begins, the dedicated muso is already releasing singles from his forthcoming debut album, Destination Unknown, set to grace our ears later this year.
“Passing Seconds” is the titbit from Destination Unknown and comes along with an evocative music video filmed and directed by Graeme Wyllie on the streets of Jozi and in a private Linden gym called ‘The Fort’.
Through “Passing Seconds”, Prangley narrates a heartfelt story of someone who has fallen on hard times financially and is battling to cope with the setbacks emotionally. The set and compelling visuals send a motivational message of never giving up when times get tough.
Hoping everyone will relate to the music video in their own way, Vaughn says, “The song is a lesson on using your time and energy on things that matter to you and not letting the hurdles in life hold you back. Time is something we will never be able to change. We will never get back the seconds that pass by. So, strive to live every passing second as a second to be remembered.”
Hard-hitting sentiments from the new kid on the block – made even more impressive by this fact alone. We’re waiting on more, Vaughn.
