Childish Gambino (aka Donald Glover) has shared a cover of Brittany Howard’s Grammy-winning single “Stay High”.
In collaboration with producer James Francies, Glover transformed this soul-rock song into a synth-driven track with complementing orchestral strings. Not to mention how well Howard’s soulful voice works with Glover’s falsetto.
Glover’s interpretation will appear on “Jaime Reimagined”, a new album featuring various covers and remixes of Howard’s 2019 debut solo album Jaime.
Howard even thanked Glover on Instagram for reimagining her song.
“I hope the message of this song will inspire people to stay positive and not give up hope during these crazy times. Check it out now at the link in the bio and stay tuned for the full Jaime Reimagined album this Friday!” she wrote on her Instagram.
The album will come out 23 July and will also feature artists such as Bon Iver, Michael Kiwanuka, Jungle, Little Dragon and many more.
