So Kindly’s “Send Me A Sign” is soulful elegy on being human

Hailing from Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe, indie-folk singer and rising star So Kindly, is serving heartfelt harmonies and a hefty dose of introspection in his latest single – and it will charm your socks off. An ode to the human condition, “Send Me a Sign” is everything you need and more from a song, neatly packaged within an indie ballad.

With a sound that sits in that sonic sweet spot between lowkey electronica and acoustic-leaning indie, So Kindly has created a sleepily upbeat offering that’s engaging without relying on theatrics. Simple, piano-led melodies form the backbone of the song, while a percussive beat and unobtrusive bassline inject some energy into the sound. Skilful in his song writing, his lyrics err on the side of poetic, authentic in their humanity and undeniably candid as he questions his place in the world, while his soft, soothing vocals breathe life into this vulnerability.

“Send Me A Sign” portrays So Kindly’s undeniable optimism in the face of uncertainty and, in turn, he injects an infectious warmth and earnestness into it that makes it a wholly enjoyable listen.
