ABBA release cheerful new single “Just A Notion” which was recorded back in 1978

Do you need a little pick-me-up on this weary Monday morning? If your answer is yes, then ABBA has you sorted with their latest single “Just A Notion”.

The group’s Björn Ulvaeus has described the song in a statement as “a ridiculously happy song” and that “hopefully it will cheer you up in these dark times!”

“Just A Notion” was recorded in September 1978 but it never made the final cut for the group’s sixth studio album Voulez-Vous. This version retains the original vocals of the 1978 recording but it does however feature updated instrumentals.

“In a way, it demonstrates what we plan to do with ABBA Voyage in 2022. There, we will have a live band playing, but all vocals will be from the old recordings,” Ulvaeus said.

The song along with comeback singles “I Still Have Faith in You” and “Don’t Shut Me Down” will be on the group’s forthcoming album Voyage, set to be released on November 5.

Meanwhile, the 3000-capacity ABBA Arena is being built at London’s Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park for the ABBA Voyage tour (starting May 27 2022) which will see “digital” versions of the iconic four-piece perform alongside a 10-piece live band.

Honestly, how will other music groups be able to top this type of comeback?! ABBA knows where it is at.
