Moonchild Sanelly pleads for the pandemic to end so we can just be festive with latest single “Covivi”

There’s nothing like a December party to kick the year to the curb, and with the pandemic still plainly lurking Moonchild Sanelly’s latest song “Covivi” – featuring Theology HD – vocalises what we all want: for the pandemic to end so that we can just jol.

To be honest, things are looking a little wonky, but at least Sanelly has blessed us with a song and music video to dance to, illuminating some positive energy to ride 2021 out with.

Once the jazzy piano notes hit, this “dancefloor freedom anthem” starts taking shape. It’s a slow burner – but the mixture of house and amapiano elements together with the relatable lyrics will have you remembering the pre-rona jols.

As always Sanelly is rocking her signature blue hair with a frilly pink cover-up – a true vision of body positivity and sexual empowerment throughout. She also takes the role a news anchor in the beginning: a tongue-in-cheek reference to the focal-point of attention over the last two years..

Though keeping things simple, the music video captures our yearning for simpler times: pool parties, DJs to bop to, making memories with friends, and just having a good time without the subconscious ’rona concern looming. Nothing like an aesthetic banger to close off the year without a whiff of nostalgia.
