Rock band Muse is taking back their power with a brand new song called “Won’t Stand Down” which includes a pretty dark music video.
Lead singer Matt Bellamy says the song is “about standing your ground against bullies, whether that be on the playground, at work or anywhere. Protecting yourself from coercion and sociopathic manipulation and to face adversity with strength, confidence and aggression.”
Bellamy’s vocals are amplified by heavy guitars and distortions, which makes it no surprise the song was mixed by Dan Lancaster who’s worked with acts like Bring Me The Horizon and Enter Shikari.
The eerie music video directed by award-winning filmmaker Jared Hogan shows a creepy, mysterious figure controlling a dark army like a puppet master and then transmuting into an augmented being.
Despite the release of this defiant song, it is not clear if the two-time Grammy award-winners will be releasing an album soon, but it’s good to get new music from them regardless.
