Vinyl sales have been increasing over the years but last year in the United States, vinyl albums outsold CDs for the first time in 30 years.

Vinyls accounted for 38.3% of all album sales in the country according to data from the MRC and Billboard. Even more astonishingly, it accounted for over 50% of all physical album sales.

In 2020 the sales were about 27.55 million but last year the rate of vinyl albums sold went up to 41.72 million, a whopping 51.4%!

Numbers are great and all but the question is who were the biggest sellers? Well, Adele’s 30 was one of the biggest sellers (318 000 copies), including Taylor Swift’s Red (Taylor’s Version) and Olivia Rodrigo’s Sour. Round of applause for the ladies taking over the music scene.
