Jim Beam is bringing us together. The merging of artists, venues, and music lovers. The feeling of being a part of the SA music scene with the launch of their Jim Beam Welcome Sessions. The Welcome Sessions are all about creating connections between amazing acts, some you wouldn’t ordinarily expect to feature together. It’s a demonstration of their shared love for the music and the local scene to remind fans of the essence of live music, that welcoming spirit – something they’ve been missing over these long months.
Welcome back live music with TCIYF and The Tidal Waves on the 25th of March at The Box Shop in Soweto, Johannesburg. Two performances, one night. Brought to you by the world’s number one bourbon.
TCIYF is a punk band pioneered by a punk-rock collective which spawned between members of Skate Society Soweto community. Over the years they have built a thriving cult following and forged a counter-cultural movement which bridges township and urban sound. They deliver thrashing, break-neck punk rock songs about everything you secretly want to hear.
The Tidal Waves breathe life into the everlasting genre that is reggae and, according to the band themselves, they are the hardest working reggae band in South Africa. Marrying traditional reggae sounds with blues, mbaqanga and rock influences. They’ve been riding the scene since 1999, backed Ziggy Marley in concert, pulled crowds of 4000 at their vibrant Oppi Koppi slots, and showcase the vibrant diversity of our country within their sound.
