Dangerfields get nostalgic in their six-year montage of a music video for “Fade”

It’s been some time coming, but Dangerfields are back on the scene with full force – and just lent some visuals to the first in a series of singles due to drop throughout the year. “Fade”, which hit the airwaves late last year, just received a visual treatment and for anyone who has been following the band since their 2016 inception, they’ve got some nostalgic throwbacks tucked in there for you.

Sweeping and atmospheric, Dangerfields leans into their shoegazey, dream-pop side for this one. All cascading high tone instrumentals and subdued ’80’s synth. Ethereal vocalism drives it forward and all at once it got one foot in 2022 and one circa 1987.

But it’s the video which will hit you in the feels – if you have any sentiment at all for the music scene pre-pandemic. A montage of footage captured throughout Dangerfields’ six years, so far, as a band, sees them in recording studios, behind the scenes on pivotal video sets, boarding tour flights, navigating smokey venues, and rocking out on multiple stages.

It’s a glimpse into the life of the band – but it’s also a commitment to keeping things fresh in order to make the relationships in their lives last. Which is certainly one way to approach writing music. Watch this space as Dangerfields step back into their own. They have some searing stuff up their sleeves, I’m sure.
