Writer’s Picks #002: What we’re listening to this month

We’re back with our second Writer’s Picks playlist and it’s a selection of some of April’s best releases. There’s everything in here from aboynamedblu’s candid, indie-pop musings to the gentler acoustics of Amapiano heavyweight Aymos, to Spoegwolf’s roaring yet euphoric alt-anthem “Bring My Geweer”.

Newcomers to the scene include Cape Town-hailing three-piece SunMan, who bring a modern melancholy with their dynamic pop-sound, and CXLXB, whose woozy compositions and mellow vocals push a laid-back yet vulnerable persona.

We’ve also got some faces from abroad, including everyone’s fav Harry Styles, Isle of Wight’s latest export Wet Leg, and Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke’s latest side-project, The Smile. And to finish off with some familiar faces – Moonchild Sanelly, Dangerfields, Bye Beneco – this playlist is a must-listen, as we bid adieu to the last of April’s warm summer days.
